June 19th outreach

June 19, 2013
Greetings once again from the Mission team in Ghana.
We thank the Lord for his provision, as we seek to do His will.  Our team devotion for the day centered on ‘Knowing Christ.’  Paul’s prayer for the saints recorded in Ephesians 1: 17-23, is for the Father to give them the wisdom to discern the fullness of the inheritance that is awaiting them.  The team was challenged to ‘elevate our prayers’ as we seek to know Christ and the hope of His calling.
In the morning we visited the Kyere school in Truba. Brofoyedru, which is in close proximity to Br. Daniel Webster’s home.  His ‘sons’ as well as a large number of the Sunday school children also attend that school. When we arrived, the principal was not present and it was obvious that our visit was not communicated to the staff.  However, within minutes schedules and classroom spaces were rearranged and plans were made to accommodate us.  The gospel was shared clearly to the children, through song, puppetry and a gospel message. How great is our God!   It is amazing how open the doors are to sharing the gospel in the schools. Please pray that this will continue.
Today we were reminded that ‘Man’s goings are of the Lord.’ Proverbs 20: 24(a).  Our plan was to do evangelism the village of Brofoyedru which is near to Adumasa, in preparation for establishing a permanent work there.  As is customary, the village leaders were sought out to get permission to set up the ‘paint board’ in the market-square. This suggestion came from one of the leaders, “There is the school. Why don’t you do a program there?”   There again, as in the morning, schedules and spaces were rearranged and three programs were done at that school, one in the primary classes, another in the intermediate and the third in the Junior High School.
We had prepared a schedule for the afternoon, but the Lord revealed that He had other plans for us.  In Isaiah 55:8 the Lord says,“ For my thoughts are not your thoughts neither are your ways my ways...”  It seems that the Lord is leading to a special work in the schools as doors are opening wide in front of us.  ‘As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.’ Isaiah 55:9.
May the Lord grant us the discernment as we seek to know Him and do His will.
