Blessings from Ghana! On behalf of team we would all like to
thank you for your constant prayers as we evangelize here. Today was a full
schedule as we traveled to New Ham School early this morning to do a program
for the children there. The Team did a wonderful job using the methods of the
newly learned “rope trick” and paint canvas to preach the gospel, as well as a
testimony of faith from Team member Joanna. The School was very glad to have us,
and we were given three crates of eggs as a thank you gift!
The roads were pretty clogged today, making it hard to get
anywhere fast. We are very thankful for our bus driver Emmanuel, who gets us
from point A to point B safely and quickly - an amazing feat in Ghana! As Tim
puts it, “There is only one rule of the road here - There are no rules!”
Despite the difficulties of the road, by the afternoon we
made it to the village of Bebu where we did another school program. The
children there were very receptive to the choir singing in Twi, we enjoyed
hearing their lovely voices and clapping along with us. After the school
program we spread out into the village to pass out tracks and invitations for the
future new assembly planned to be planted in nearby Adumasa village (by Joseph
and Heather Frimpong along with a few other believers). We are especially grateful
for our Twi translators joining us. We would not have gotten far without them,
since many people do not understand English very well in these small rural villages.
However there were many opportunities to spend time with the people there
sharing the gospel because they would invite us into their homes and shops to
sit and listen to us. It is wonderful to see a people so hospitable and
receptive to the gospel. We would, however, ask you to pray that our message
would be clearly understood. The concept, that good works do not get you to heaven,
is difficult for some to grasp.
This evening we also held the Boukrom kids club at Daniel’s house. We enjoyed a time of singing with the
kids, along with a testimony from team member Brian, and a couple of gospel
messages by another couple of the team.
All in all it was a successful day, praise the Lord!
On behalf of the team Emily
