1st Sunday and Truba lake hike and tract distribution

Praying friends,

Things went well for the mission team on their first Sunday in Ghana. Though everyone was tired from the traveling and jetlag, yet all were up early and ready to meet the believers of the assembly, and take on their roles in helping in classes, and other responsibilities. The breaking of bread was especially delightful to our souls, as we lifted our hearts in praise to God. The singing was hearty, and with the additional voices, the room was filled with the fragrance of Christ. We trust the Lord Jesus was glorified in our midst, and we brought pleasure to the heart of God.

There was a good turnout for Sunday school, and the children were divided into four classes with various team members helping to teach and supervise in each of these classes. The children certainly enjoyed having all the visitors among us, and we highly suspect they will bring out all their friends next Sunday. The church received everyone warmly and helped with all the interpreting that was needed for each class. Paul gave a message to the adults about the past, present and future work of our Lord Jesus, and we are anticipating more good teaching from our brother each Sunday the team is here in Ghana.

In the afternoon our schedule permitted a walk to nearby Truba lake, where some of the team jumped in the lake to cool off, and enjoy some swimming. The sky was painted with glorious displays of light streaming through the clouds, inviting us to take several pictures of God’s wondrous creation.

The team appears to be gelling together very well, and the choir must be heaven sent, for they sound angelic. They gave their first presentation at the family bible hour, and I am sure everyone was blessed by their divinely sweet singing.

Tomorrow we are off to a nearby school to share the gospel with them.  Tim met the headmaster while walking towards the lake, and the man was quite insistent that we should come and speak to the children. The only day we were not  booked to speak at a school has therefore been filled up with this invitation. It appears that our Lord would have us fully occupied each day of this mission trip.

Do pray for strength of body, mind and spirit, as well as for unity of the Spirit, as we labor together for the furtherance of the gospel.
